Sermon Text: MARK 10:32-45
Sermon Series: THE ROAD TO THE CROSS: FOLLOWING THE SUFFERING KING

SERMON NOTES
We don’t truly understand life until we’ve stooped low enough to see it from below.
In God’s Kingdom, the way up is down.
I. THE LEADER WHO GOES FIRST.
Leadership in the Kingdom is knowing the cost and walking forward anyway.
Reflect: Where might God be calling you to go first?
Leaders in the Kingdom don’t wait for perfect conditions; they move in obedience.
II. THE AMBITION THAT MISSES THE POINT.
It’s possible to follow Jesus and still be secretly running a personal campaign.
The road to resurrection always passes through Gethsemane.
Reflect: What is your “cup”?
Jesus would drink the cup of the Father’s wrath so that you and I would never drink ours alone.
III. THE REDEFINITION OF GREATNESS.
On the cross, Jesus became both the price and the purchaser: he bought our freedom with his own life.
When you serve, you reflect the very heart of the Savior.
Reflect: So where can we serve today?
The greatest person in any room is not the one everyone notices; it’s the one quietly serving when no one’s looking.
ENDING THOUGHT
The most powerful leaders in God’s Kingdom aren’t the loudest or the most impressive; they’re the ones who’ve stopped needing to be anything at all… because they’ve found everything in Christ.
